JET Program

KKBE teens are having fun, becoming leaders, and making friends as they form deep connections to Jewish culture and each other. This youth community ensures “Jewish geography” friendships throughout the Southeast, in college and beyond. Our Senior Youth Group of 8th-12th graders. CHARLEY (CHARLEston Youth) is KKBE’s Senior Youth Group, a member of NFTY and NFTY SAR. This self-governed organization is open to teenagers from the 8th grade to 12th grade. Coming together for social, ritual, and community service programming, they stay connected Jewishly, while developing leadership skills. With a busy slate of activities created and organized by the youth-led board, members are very active in KKBE programs.

About NFTY

For almost seventy years, the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY) has offered thousands of young people the opportunity to explore and live Reform Judaism.

Today, over 750 Reform congregations throughout North America sponsor Temple Youth Groups, bringing the NFTY experience to more than 10,000 high school age young people in grades 9 thru 12. Through involvement opportunities offered by congregations, our 19 NFTY regions, and on the North American level, NFTYites strive to forge an identity in consonance with the goals and values of Reform Judaism.

NFTY-SAR brings together Reform Jewish Teens from northern Florida, Alabama, Georgia, as well as South Carolina and portions of North Carolina. Our members come together at many times during the year for learning, fun, worship, community service, and fellowship to help young Jewish adults throughout the region build and strengthen lifetime ties with each other and Reform Judaism.
