Founded in 1749, KKBE is one of the oldest congregations in America, and is known as the birthplace of American Reform Judaism. Our sanctuary is the oldest in continuous use for Jewish worship in America, but Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim (KKBE) is more than just a house of worship. We are a vibrant, inclusive and caring congregational family.

Yoga at the Beach is back by popular demand! Come out to Isle of Palms on Monday, September 23 at 7:00PM for a fabulous group yoga session led by Gail Harrison Corvette. Park at First United Methodist Church, 12 21st Ave, Isle of Palms, SC 29451 and walk down to the beach to join us! This event is free with a suggested $18 donation. Be sure to BYOM (bring your own mat).

There are days when we set soft, soothing tones on our alarms for a gentle wake-up and a smooth transition into the day. Then there are days when roaring thunder kicks us into that extra gear like the Olympic Athletes stepping into the arena over the summer to take on the world. During the Month of Elul and the High Holy Days, sounding the Shofar gives us that spiritual charge like no other, each blast calling us to step into the New Year, ready to take on life's twists and turns. Join us in the Sanctuary for a dive into Shofar's origins in Jewish worship and some techniques for sounding. Bring your own Shofar if you have one!
