Welcome to KKBE!

Rooted deeply. Growing wisely. Cultivating community.

Founded in 1749, KKBE is one of the oldest congregations in America, and is known as the birthplace of American Reform Judaism. Our sanctuary is the oldest in continuous use for Jewish worship in America, but Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim (KKBE) is more than just a house of worship. We are a vibrant, inclusive and caring congregational family.

There’s no question that for so many of us the highlight of the High Holy Days is its music. From the majesty of soaring choral arrangements to the somber contemplation inspired by Yizkor melodies, the music of these awesome days touches something deep within our souls. Its resonance becomes that much more powerful when we reflect not only on how these prayers sound, but what they say. Join us then for this session where we’ll spend time considering both, meaning and melody, as well as previewing some of the new pieces that will be included in this year’s High Holy Day worship.

This session will take place in person at KKBE. Register HERE.
